It was 2011.
Giuseppe Conti Papuzza, called Pepè: An extrovert, decisive and unpredictable chef; with just one word, Sicilian. He gathered more than ten years of experience in the “continental Italy” before arriving in Alba, Piemonte.
Vittoria Santoiemma: welcoming, reliable, prepared and determined; with just one word, Apulian. After having left her job in sociology she followed her two passions, hospitality and wine, and found herself in Alba.
They met and a strong synergy was born. Initially, the idea of working together was a distant dream, but it materialized in 2013 when they bought Trattoria Pugliese. And there they made their nest.
Trattoria Pugliese is the synonym for simple, genuine and essential cuisine like the name suggests. They choose local small producers, buy fresh seasonal ingredients and treat every detail with love and professionalism.
The kitchen of this place is a vehicle to describe the land and the history, where wine and food become the road that is being explored.
